Overview
bell’s is named for one of our heroes, bell hooks - an author, feminist, and social activist. Components of bell’s change multiple times throughout the year to embrace the freshest harvests available to our roasting team. However, the flavor profile goal remains the same - nutty, chocolatey, balanced, and approachable. This blend is designed to be your everyday go-to for lovers of classic coffee flavors. It shines across every brew method and every milk and sugar addition you could dream of. The current offering is a two-part blend composed of the following:
-
50% Celso and Gertrudes - this is a smaller (14 /15) screen size blend from Celso and Gertrudes, who we’ve been consistently purchasing from for the past few years. Sourced through our partners at Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza (FAF), this smaller screen size blend (aka Mirim) has been a staple component of bell’s blend for 3 consecutive seasons.
-
50% Hunapu Zeladas - a washed processed coffee from multiple members of the Zeladas family in Antigua, Guatemala. We source this offering through our milling and exporting partners, Beneficio Bella Vista, who we’ve been working with now for 8 years. We’ve consistently purchased coffees from the larger Hunapu group as single origin offerings; but in the past few years, we’ve honed in our focus even tighter to specifically the Zeladas Family. And furthermore this season, we selected this additional lot for use solely in bells blend throughout the year!
These coffee both perfectly exemplify one of our green buying missions to focus on select producers / producer groups that we purchase from in a more holistic method.
